    ERYE sleeper sofas and futons

Our sleepers make a bed in three different ways. A sleeper sectional keeps a frame under the seat that comes forward when you pull the strap handle at the front. Futons have one long seat and a back that tilts down until the two lie flat together. The sleeper sofas and chairs fold or pull out into a bed of their own, and some of them are compressed foam that arrives boxed.

Width tells you where each one fits. Our futons run 68 to 75.39 inches wide and slide under a window or into a study. The sleeper sectionals reach 71 to 117.5 inches and turn the long side of a family sofa into a guest bed. Seat heights differ too. A futon sits 15 to 17.12 inches off the floor, and a sleeper sectional 16.9 to 19.8, closer to a dining chair.

Most of our sleeper sectionals pair the bed with storage. The chaise top lifts by a strap to open a well big enough for the guest bedding. Several models also have armrests with hidden compartments and cup holders that tuck away when you are not using them. On a few, the pull-out section can go on either the left or the right, so the bed opens toward the free side of your room.

Corduroy and chenille cover most sleeper sectionals, and a linen blend on solid wood legs is the usual futon. If a guest stays often, look at the sectional sleepers, several of which have a plywood frame with springs under the seat. Our guide to sleeper and storage sectionals explains how the pull-out frames work across the ERYE lineup, and you can compare the futons side by side.

Questions about ERYE sleeper sofas and futons

Choose a futon when the room is small and the bed gets occasional use, since the back simply folds down flat. A sleeper sectional makes more sense when the same room is where you sit every evening, because it seats a family by day and hides the bed and the bedding inside by night.

Some, and it is brief. Our futons come with every part needed, and the legs screw into the base. Sleeper sectionals arrive in more than one carton, so wait until every box is in the house before you start, then join the sections and attach the legs.

On several of our futons, yes. The back locks partway between upright and flat, with three positions on some models, so you can lean against it with a book before you lower it all the way. A split back on a few lets one side stay up while the other lies flat.

In the chaise, on most models. Lift the top by its strap and the well underneath holds a duvet and pillows between visits, next to the bed they belong to. Where the chaise has no well, the storage ottoman or the armrest compartments take the smaller things.
