A chaise lounge is a seat long enough for your legs, and ours come in three builds. The armless tufted loungers are narrow, 27.17 inches wide and 62.8 inches long, with a raised back at one end. Floor loungers are compressed foam that arrives boxed, several with cup holders and a charging port in the arm. The double chaises and daybeds are wide enough for two people side by side.

Measure the floor as a rectangle before you choose. Most of the long loungers need 58.46 to 66.1 inches of length, and their seats reach 41.8 to 56.2 inches from the front edge to the back, deep enough to lie with your legs out. Seat heights run from 14 inches on the lowest floor lounger to 20.08 on the tufted chaise, the easier of the two to rise from.

Boucle leads among the covers, then corduroy, with velvet, chenille and faux leather on the rest. The boucle daybeds at 72.1 and 72.76 inches come with a matching ottoman that slides against the seat to lengthen it, or pulls away as a footrest. Some loungers have a back that you set upright to read and lower to nap, and a few keep storage inside the seat.

Each lounger carries a weight rating from 300 to 600 pounds, so look at it when two people will share one. Set a chaise from the ERYE catalog at the end of a sectional, under a window or at the foot of a bed, wherever the floor gives it length. On a hard floor, a rug under a foam lounger keeps it from creeping when you drop into it.

    Questions

    Questions about ERYE chaise lounges

Plan for the full length first. The narrow tufted loungers take 27.17 by 62.8 inches, the floor loungers 40.9 by 60.6, and the double chaises 62.99 by 58.46. Leave room in front to swing your legs off, and keep a clear path along the long side.

Yes, on the double pieces. The 62.99-inch chaises and the square corduroy lounger at 78.5 inches seat two, and the 69-inch double floor chaise is rated for 600 pounds. Both the narrow tufted loungers and the 40.9-inch floor loungers are made for one person at a time.

Some do. The corduroy and chenille floor loungers and a few of the larger corduroy pieces arrive vacuum-packed and fill out after you open them, with no tools. Tufted loungers and boucle daybeds are framed and come with their parts and instructions in the carton, ready for a short assembly.

Our tufted armless loungers, whose seats sit 20.08 inches high, the tallest among our chaises. The floor loungers sit lower, down to 14 inches on the square corduroy piece, which suits lounging close to the floor but asks more of your knees when you stand up again.
