Nearly all of our dining tables start round, and most open into an oval when guests come. On the butterfly models a 12-inch leaf folds away under the top, so it never has to live in a closet. Others take a separate leaf that drops into the middle. A few are fixed rounds on a single mushroom-shaped pedestal, built from just a top and a base.
For a kitchen or a dining room that seats four most nights, a 42-inch round top is enough, and it opens to 54 or 56 inches for six. The 47-inch tables open to 63. Beside the tables sit dining sets that come with their chairs, one of them with a bench as well, so you can furnish the room in a single order.
All of them stand 29.53 to 31.5 inches high, so hold your chairs, arms included, against that height before you pair them. A round top suits a square room or a breakfast corner, since nobody sits at a corner and the chairs tuck in all around. Wood grain and color vary from one top to the next, which is normal for veneer and solid wood from the ERYE lineup.

On several models the top is oak veneer, a thin layer of real oak over a composite core, and on others MDF is combined with rubberwood. Underneath you find solid wood legs, an X-shaped cross base or, on the fixed rounds, a single pedestal. The last two leave the edge of the table free for chairs.
Yes, it arrives for full assembly, with step-by-step instructions in the box. Lay the top face down on a blanket while you fit the legs or the base, and have a drill ready, since the instructions for some models suggest one. Tighten every bolt again once the table stands upright.
The five-piece set comes with four solid wood chairs, and the six-piece rectangular set adds a bench to its four chairs, so six can sit at its 60 by 36-inch table. On the rectangular set the chairs have an X-shaped curved back and burlap cushions.
Wipe spills while they are fresh with a damp cloth, then dry the surface. Set hot pans on a trivet and use coasters under glasses, and keep the table out of strong afternoon sun, which fades wood unevenly. Leave the leaf in now and then so it ages with the rest of the top.
